The Foundation of WCC’s Arts and Humanities Lecture

Moffatt Auditorium | February 26, 2024 5:30 pm

Dr. Graeme Robertson returns after a year to update on the Russian invasion of Ukraine in a lecture titled “Ukrainian Resistance to Russia’s Invasion.” He will focus on the Ukrainian resistance across a number of fronts—military, political, and social. The state of the war now and what is at stake going forward will be explained. He will also address the political situation on the Russian side of the border.

Graeme Robertson is a professor of political science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and director of the Center for Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Studies. He is the author of Putin v. The People, Revolution and Reform in Ukraine, and The Politics of Protest in Hybrid Regimes: Managing Dissent in Post-Communist Russia. Roberson was in Ukraine in September where he taught a course on resistance and reconstruction at the Kyiv School of Economics.

This lecture is presented by the Foundation of WCC and Carolina Public Humanities. It is free and open to the public to attend.
