Veterans Day Event

Wayne Community College will honor United States military veterans at a special ceremony held on Monday, Nov. 10.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. in Moffatt Auditorium located inside the Wayne Learning Center (the main building on campus with the flag poles in front). It is free and open to the public to attend.

Colonel Curtis Inman will be the ceremony’s guest speaker. A Goldsboro native, Inman was commissioned into the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps in 1983. He held multiple leadership positions in four infantry divisions, an Army training center, and an Army training command throughout 30 years.

Inman was mobilized with the 108th Training Command, and his operational deployment was with the Multi-National Security Transition Command – Iraq. He also served two tours in South Korea.

Most recently, Inman became a U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) instructor with the U.S. Accessions Command, where he taught and mentored cadets at Goldsboro High School, his alma mater, until 2020.
