Worrell Appointed WCC Trustee

Adrian M. Worrell of Goldsboro has joined the Wayne Community College Board of Trustees.

He was appointed by the Wayne County Board of Education.

Adrian Worrell takes the oath of office to serve as a member of Wayne Community College’s Board of Trustees as Assistant Secretary to the Board Leasa Holmes administers it, President Thomas A. Walker Jr. holds a Bible, and Worrell’s wife Selena and daughter Roderica witness the occasion.

“I am extremely honored and humbled to have this opportunity to serve on the Wayne Community College Board of Trustees,” Worrell said. “It is of great importance for me to be involved in my community because it allows me to display a positive impact.”

“This enables me to assist in continuing the mission of the college. I decided to join the Board of Trustees because I care about the community and this is one way to give back and further enhance the progress of Wayne Community College,” said Worrell.

Worrell is the chief executive officer of Worrell Contracting Co. Inc. Prior to establishing this business, he worked as a correctional officer at Eastern Correctional Institution and served in the U.S. Navy.

His other community service has included board member for the North Carolina Community Federal Credit Union and deacon and trustee for The Word Warehouse.

Worrell is a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School.
