Admissions
Welcome to the page for Admissions & Records. The Office of Admissions & Records is where you will apply for admission, get scheduled for placement testing, and submit your transcripts.
New Students
A new student is a student who does not have previous college credit. New students need to complete an application either in our office, through CFNC.org, or printed off our website and mailed to us. Please allow adequate time for processing and be aware that additional paperwork may be required. After your application is submitted, you will be scheduled for the placement test. All of your official transcripts must be submitted to our office. An official transcript is one that has been sealed by your previous school and has not been opened.
Returning Students
Returning students are students who have previously been enrolled in classes at Wayne Community College. If you have not attended within the past five years, you will need to complete an application either in our office, through CFNC.org, or printed off our website and mailed to us for readmission. After your application is submitted, you will be scheduled for the placement test. If you completed classes here at Wayne Community College when you were previously enrolled, it is possible that you do not need to take the placement test. If you have questions about your previous classes, please feel free to contact us.
If you have attended within the past five years and are not currently enrolled, you will need to complete a Student Information Update Form with Counseling Services.
A transfer student is a student who has previous college credit from another college, university, or institution. Transfer students need to complete an application either in our office, through CFNC.org, or printed off our website and mailed to us. Please allow adequate time for processing and be aware that additional paperwork may be required. All of your official transcripts must be submitted to our office. An official transcript is one that has been sealed by your previous school and has not been opened. College transcripts will be evaluated, and a copy of the evaluation will be mailed to you. If you have questions about your evaluation, please feel free to contact us. It is possible that you will need to take part of our placement test, and we can help you with that.
International Students
International students need to complete an application either in our office, through CFNC.org, or printed off our website and mailed to us. To insure that we are approved to accept your visa, please stop by the Office of Admissions & Records to speak with either our Assistant Director or our Director. Wayne Community College is not approved for attendance of non-immigrant students with F, J, or M visas. If you are unsure of your enrollment status, do not hesitate to ask us for help.
Visiting Students
Visiting students need to complete an application either in our office, through CFNC.org, or printed off our website and mailed to us. If you will be taking classes at Wayne Community College to transfer back to your college or university, a letter of permission is required to waive the prerequisite(s) for the particular class(es) that you need to take. If you do not have a letter of permission, you can show us proof of your prerequisite(s) by submitting the official college transcript that has your prerequisite(s) on it.
If you are required to complete additional residency paperwork, you can access the links here:
Application for classification as a legal resident of NC for tuition purpose (Part II)
