This program prepares you to manage and produce forest resources. Course work includes instruction in woods and field skills, tree identification, timber measurement, logging and timber harvesting, forest propagation and regeneration, forest fire-fighting, resource management, equipment operation and maintenance, record-keeping, sales and purchasing operations, and personnel supervision.
There is a broad range of different employment opportunities locally, regionally, and nationally. Developing employment opportunities make this a graduate’s job market.

You can transfer from WCC to NCSU to earn a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management.
Employment: You will be prepared for employment through a variety of class and laboratory activities with a focus on practical skills.
Salary: Employment opportunities exist in private industry as well as state and federal governmental agencies with starting salaries ranging from $31,000 to $45,000.
Further Education: Additional educational opportunities are available through articulation with N.C. State University Forest Management.
